Lu Lin (卢琳) — Promising Contemporary Artist
Born in 1986 in China, Lu Lin graduated from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts (TAFA) in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree. Following his graduation, he moved to Beijing to pursue a full-time artistic career. Highly productive and committed, Lu has since participated in more than 30 exhibitions worldwide, including five solo shows in both China and abroad.
Renowned Singaporean artist and curator W. Y. Choy has praised Lu Lin’s works for their modern vision, solid foundation, and exceptional sensitivity. Choy notes Lu’s relentless pursuit of experimentation and innovation as among his most defining qualities.
In Twilight, Lu explored the fleeting transformations of light at dusk, creating a work imbued with mystery and beauty. In In the Water, he elevated the color black—enriched with subtle accents of red, blue, green, and white—into a poetic composition, transforming a simple river scene into a deeply resonant masterpiece.
Lu Lin’s art reflects a fearless engagement with light, color, and form. His works stand out for their visual brilliance, emotional depth, and continuous spirit of innovation, positioning him as one of the most promising voices among China’s younger generation of contemporary artists.
